Marie (Hall) Ets (b. 1895) was born in North Greenfield, Wisconsin, daughter of Walter and Mathilde (Carhart) Hall. She married Harold Norris Ets, and after his death, Milton T. Rodig. Marie Hall Ets received her doctorate from the University of Chicago and studied art at the Art Institute of Chicago. She is best known for her career as a writer and illustrator of children's books (many of which are housed at the Kerlan Collection, University of Minnesota Libraries).
